The Souq is open everyday from 9am till 1pm then again from 4pm to 9pm. In the morning certain shops don't open till 10 and in the afternoon some till 430 so go after that to be safe. It's not seasonal, but on Fridays it doesn't open in the morning.

The Muttrah Souq is the traditional old city souq in Muscat. To be honest, it’s much like any other old souq in the middle east. There are a few slight differences, and it’s worth visiting, but a large proportion of the wares for sale will match those in the souqs of Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Bahrain.

Opening hours for the Muttrah Souk are 9AM-1PM/4PM-9PM Saturday through Thursday and 9AM-1PM on Fridays. Here are a few more photos I captured whilst strolling around the Souk… This post was brought to you by Side trip of a Lifetime and the Sultanate of Oman.

Mutrah Souq. Many people come to Mutrah Corniche just to visit the souq, which retains the chaotic interest of a traditional Arab market albeit housed under modern timber roofing. Shops selling Omani and Indian artefacts together with a few antiques jostle among more traditional textile, hardware and jewellery stores.

Answer 1 of 5: Is the Souq open every day and what time does it open and close? Does this vary by season? I'll be visiting at the end of January arriving around 9am on a Sunday and departing midday on the Monday. Thanks
