The Souq is open everyday from 9am till 1pm then again from 4pm to 9pm. In the morning certain shops don't open till 10 and in the afternoon some till 430 so go after that to be safe. It's not seasonal, but on Fridays it doesn't open in the morning.

Most stores within the Muttrah Souk accept credit card (very impressed!) so start working on those bargaining skills. Yep, they take all of these cards! The Muttrah Souq is the traditional old city souq in Muscat. To be honest, it’s much like any other old souq in the middle east. There are a few slight differences, and it’s worth visiting, but a large proportion of the wares for sale will match those in the souqs of Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Bahrain.

Answer 1 of 5: Is the Souq open every day and what time does it open and close? Does this vary by season? I'll be visiting at the end of January arriving around 9am on a Sunday and departing midday on the Monday. Thanks
