In the state of Texas, 39 weeks is the earliest they let me have an "elective" c-section. Elective meaning it was a repeat c-section and I had not gone into labor prior. Had I gone into labor before, like at 37 or 38 weeks then that is ok. Or if there was another medical reason to go before 39.
