Honestly I don't think this has to do with high hostility nor defensive mode. It's just the way it's been for long distance sells. If you're the one doing the long distance delivery, you have a short amount of time before the game says that you may now be attacked by rival players.

Nah, you can stay in defensive mode during short deliveries and the game generally puts you into a solo lobby when the mission starts. Long deliveries are definitely not worth doing in my view, especially now that you lose everything if you disconnect as well. …

Or is only deliveries that can be done in defensive? So far i have been forking over 20 bucks to resupply cuz i don't want to find out how much can be looted from my camp if flag is red. You can do resupply missions in Defensive, only Long Deliveries make you go out of Defensive. Unless it's changes after a certain point?

It's not that bad. You do occasionally come across a posse who are just griefing players and NPC's alike. Or a random in town will shoot you for no reason. But you can just enter defensive mode, or parley. It was more of an issue for me when I first started playing. You're a fish out of water so to speak.

You can still fight back, you just have to free aim, and you can tank up to 4 explosive rounds. It actually made fighting 3 people pretty manageable. Most of the time the game puts me in my own lobby for the delivery, and resupply missions though. I stay in defensive mode, and only do the local deliveries and haven't had an issue since those ...
