Apr 11, 2014 · No it does not. S/PDIF supports the following formats: Compressed bitstreams up to 48Khz/16bps using AC3 (Dolby Digital) or DTS encoding mechanisms. Surround audio across S/PSIF can only be achieved using AC3/DTS. Multichannel PCM (most desirable) is not possible over S/PDIF but is possible over HDMI.

Games still runin in 2.0 PCM dont care if u connected with S/PDIF or HDMI. passthrough isnt working for games (PC MASTERRACE! ugly) When i wonna watch a Movie with DD/DTS support i will do this with the VLC- Player. u dont need a dolby or dts- app for this. just enable in VLC audio settings PASSTHROUGH (S/PDIF) and u can hear it in Surroundsound.

Oct 05, 2017 · I used to have the same options in Windows 7 as spaceweaver for my (optical in) SPDIF in: Default, SPDIF pass-through , and AC3, DTS encoder. But now the options are greyed out and i also notice that in the past when i turned on dolby digital live or DTS Connect i could also apply them on the SPDIF In, while i now only have the SPDIF Out option.

Jul 26, 2018 · I can get DTS or DD passthrough no problem when sending HDMI to my TV which then spits the signal over to the receiver via ARC, but when I tried connecting the Windows 7 PC directly to the receiver, all I get is PCM. PC is set for 2 channel stereo in each case, as I heard that is the only way to get the HD audio to flow through the HDMI cable.

Sep 30, 2010 · That said, if you can't get MPCHC to do passthrough on AC3 and DTS bitstreams using it's internal filter, then disable the filter (just untick AC3 and DTS in the Internal Filters window) and install ffdshow or AC3filter, and configure one of those for AC3/DTS passthrough.

Jan 21, 2017 · For the same hardware set up, if I substitute iMXQpro by another media player, I get Dolby Atmos on my AV. I conclude that there is nothing wrong with the hardware set up but the problem is in setting of iMXQpro, providing the device is able to passthrough Dolby Atmos signal.

Aug 20, 2008 · If you have an HDMI switching receiver, you should connect HDMI from your source to receiver to get both audio and video. If your source is PS3 or BLU-RAY stand alone player, you will get HD sounds such as DTS-HD MA and Dolby True HD. SPDIF just give you Dolby Digital and DTS sound and you need a video cable.
