The promise of USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) is that we’ll eventually be able to power all our gadgets, at least the ones that draw less than 100 watts anyway, with just one adapter.

Power Arduino with USB adapter

May 19, 2009 · I have powered the Arduino from a device that plugs into the mains and supplies 5V power through a USB connector. This works fine. The device uses the USB connector just for 5V power, and does not supply USB data at all. Any power supply that gives more than 5V must go to the Vin and Ground connections.

Aug 02, 2018 · Running the USB-C Power Delivery stack can require some amount of RAM and processing power. I've tested this with the Arduino M0. I'm not sure something like the Arduino Uno is capable of running this code without some modiciations. Pull requests are always welcome. The other major limitation is the power supplies on the Arduino.

May 16, 2017 · If you want to learn more, I recommend going through the captured transactions with the USB Power Delivery spec open. If you right-click on the Packet number, you will see an option to inspect the raw data. You can select between looking at the 5-bit data that was transmitted on the wire, or the 4-bit nibbles it represents.Location: 1506 Pullman Way Oakland, CA, 94607 United States

Mar 05, 2017 · USB Power Delivery is what is used to do things with USB-C including negotiating for higher voltages, entering alternate modes, and swapping power roles. This library requires a lower-level library implementing the USB Type-C Port Manager (TCPM) interface. For now, it is hard-coded to use the FUSB302 library only. Example Usage

Mar 19, 2020 · PD Micro is the first Arduino-compatible board with USB-C power delivery. The pins are compatible with Pro micro. PD Micro allows you to control high voltage easily from USB-C Power delivery. It’s useful for applications that require voltage higher than 5V – like motor control or a high-power ...

USB Power Delivery for everyone - Use Arduino for Projects

USB Power Delivery is a cool standard for getting lots of power—up to 100 W—from a USB Type-C port. Being an open standard for supplying enough power to charge phones, laptops, and just about anything else under the sun, USB PD is poised to greatly reduce the amount of e-waste produced worldwide from obsolete proprietary chargers.

I have a Type-C Port Manager library for the FUSB302 specifically, and worked with a colleague to produce another library for USB Power Delivery, which uses it. The current status of the code is that it working well enough to support being a Power Sink, and runs on Arduino. ChangelogLocation: Oakland, CA, United States of America
