Drug Delivery Using Nano-Pore Zeolites and Ultrasound ... of ultrasound can often be attributed either to temperature rise or to cavitation activity. 1 Ultrasound is adopted in drug delivery such as supplying chemotherapeutic drugs into tumors. Several drugs, such as hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, and lidocaine have been delivered in clinical ...Author: Ali Hassanvand, Mojtaba Hajihassani, Mohamad Abdi, Shahriar Gharibzadeh

Two different structures of zeolites, faujasite (FAU) and Linde type A (LTA), were studied to investigate their suitability for drug delivery systems (DDS). The zeolites in the sodium form (NaY and NaA) were used as hosts for encapsulation of α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamic acid (CHC). CHC, an experimental anticancer drug, was encapsulated in both zeolites by diffusion in liquid phase. These new ...Author: Ricardo Amorim, Natália Vilaça, Olga Martinho, R. M. Due to unique characteristics of porous carriers, they have been applied in development of novel drug delivery systems such as floating drug delivery system, sustained drug delivery system and encapsulation of drugs with low aqueous solubility (14-16). Zeolites have enormous amounts of pores that provide the entrapment of drugs.Author: Ellham Khodaverdi, Reza Honarmandi, Mona Alibolandi, Roxana Rafatpanah Baygi, Farzin Hadizadeh, Ghol...

Dec 01, 2013 · The in vitro dissolution from the drug delivery systems (DDS) was explained by the Weibull model. The DDS efficacy was evaluated using two human colorectal carcinoma cell lines, HCT-15 and RKO. Unloaded zeolites presented no toxicity to both cancer cells, while all DDS allowed an important potentiation of the 5-FU effect on the cell viability.Author: Natália Vilaça, Ricardo Amorim, Ana F.
