However, Recorded delivery only provides proof of postage - not proof of receiving it - because no one needs to sign for the item. Oct 10, 2014 · As far as I am aware the term ‘recorded delivery’ is not used now- being replaced by ‘signed for’ which as the name implies is a signed for service which is adequate proof normally that ‘someone’ has signed for the item at the delivery address.
