Feb 10, 2019 · The Viewliner II sleepers are designed to reach 125 MPH. The original Viewliner sleepers were originally designed to reach 110 MPH. Is there any telling as to when they'll be rebuilt to reach 125 MPH so that the rest of the long distance trains can reach 125 MPH?

Feb 16, 2019 · Cardinal could use a full sleeper, with two Viewliner out of service this train may not get a second sleeper this summer. A bag/dorm would be useful. Cardinal most definitely need investment.

The extended Pennsylvanian that ran Philly to Chicago via Pittsburgh during M&E days had no sleeper even when on an overnight schedule eastbound. It's been a hodge-podge of single level Heritage car replacements East of the Mississippi since the start. I doubt we'll we'll see the Viewliner II sleepers.....or the Dorm/Baggage.

Capable of moving at speeds of up to 125 mph, the Viewliner II cars will be interoperable with the Viewliner I, Amfleet II (long-distance), Horizon and remaining Heritage cars, as well as all Amtrak electric and diesel road locomotives.

Jun 13, 2013 · The new Viewliner “baggies” only use about half the space to carrying luggage and other freight. The other half is built out with roomettes for the onboard crew. That’s a big improvement because the crew has had to occupy roomettes that could otherwise be sold to the public.
