Feb 24, 2018 · A redirect should have something like Attempting redirect or customer requested redirect, the tracking should also show that it got to Illinois before it was sent to VA as redirects normally happen on the original delivery day. If it was a UPS mess up they might try to get the package back / keep it moving to IL, the best person to ask what happened would be the rep.

Jan 27, 2009 · A package I'm waiting for in Colorado currently says out for delivery in Utah even though my shipping address is Colorado. Utah is a hub for packages on the way here so I assume it should say Departure scan, not out for delivery. Id still like to know how yours turned out so I can feel better :p .

Technically, it's not really "Out for delivery" at that post office because of course your address would not match any carrier's route, but your package was scanned in upon arrival, and then when sorting is done for the morning, the status of all packages taken in that day is updated automatically to be Out for Delivery.
