Thunder Ridge had a deal: lift ticket, 1.15 hr lesson and skis,boots and helmet rental. Keep in mind this was also a holiday so the cost was $240. Due to rain the day prior we were worried that it would be closed for our long awaited ski day, but the website kept the conditions up to date and we were excited with late night snow machines made sure they would be open 10-5.

Thunder Ridge wouldn't be my first choice in ski resorts. It's small - you can pretty much ski every inch of it in once session - and it's no-frills. But, it often is my first choice because the location can't be beat. We live in Westchester and can drive 45 minutes, ski for two hours and drive home. That's what we do, and that we love!
