This might take over an hour to complete. I've cold booted it and got ahold of a windows recovery disc for windows 7 64-bit. I checked the memory, found that I have no system recovery image to restore to, and no more system restore points. The memory checks fine. It's just been in this startup repair screen for hours and hours and days.

I have also successfully run the startup repair on Win 7 Pro 64 bit. My startup disk is 2 TB with about 65% full. Took about 40 minutes but I would advise for most to give it at least a couple of hours, and perhaps more than that if you have the time.
