Schwan's totally changed their work schedule for drivers. The company wants you to work 10 hours max. However, depending how far your route is away from the shop you may have to put in an extra hour or so. The challenge is trying to get some of your routes done within that time frame.

Question: How flexible are your working hours at Schwan's Home Delivery? The way your daily route is set up determines how long you are out for the day. Short route equals short day, but less money. Near 60 week minimum work schedule with poorly maintained trucks and long hours. Any holidays during the week must be made up on Saturday. Pay can be great (60+) but work environment is horrid. For example, when your truck breaks down (once a month minimum) your 60 hour week becomes a 70 hour week as you work that Saturday.

We work a minimum of 50 hours a week and that's if you're lucky. A realistic number would be 55-60 hours a week. The business hours run from Monday through Friday 8am-6pm but can go until 8pm if you haven't finished your route day yet.

The job with Schwans is of course long work hours, but the rewards make up for that. Any where from 10-12 hours is normally as those are the "store" hours for the business. I learned how to deal with and how to treat a wide variety of customers.
