As Taxco specializes in silver, Santa Clara del Cobre specializes in copper, and a spectacular job it does too. You can find anything from cheap copper trinkets on the street to spectacular copper artwork and utility products (pots, pans, etc.) in private stores and galleries.

Santa Clara itself is not the most beautiful town, but the real reason my wife and I went was to see copper crafts and the artisans who make these crafts. We visited many shops as well as visited an artisan that had approx. 10 workers busy making copper pieces. We also purchased some items at what I consider very reasonable prices.
