Jun 07, 2006 · A couple of hours to instal the HD box and move the existing Sky+ but took 24 hours to enable the card. Sky send a signal to turn the HD facility on and they had to do it three times, boosting the level each time. They tell you that it can take up to 24 hours for the signal to reach you so if it has to be repeated you could have a long wait.

Oct 10, 2018 · The point is that Sky would need to reactivate the Q box and the decoder remains the property of Sky. It doesn't matter if the original user is "long gone", it's a piece of rental equipment. I stand by my original assertion that if the OP wants Sky Q he'll have to contact Sky and arrange a formal installation.
