To confirm, in the original post the errors/crashes were happening with different software, not just Prime95. We're mainly using prime95 for testing and diagnosing. Prime95 crashes after 7 hours. OC'ed my Phenom II 965 BE to 3.8 GHz, ran the stress test and it crashes after 7 hours. Is it safe to stick with the current overclock or should I lower it? I'm trying to get it to 4.0 GHz but it's not even fully stable at the moment. Currently I have only touched the multiplier and a frequency 205 or so.

After 12 hours of memtest (~5 passes) there was no errors. At 1.25V operating voltage with highest LLC and offset adjusted, the temps were quite high. Stopped after 7 hours of Prime95. So the offset was set to -0.40V and LLC on high so that the operating voltage was 1.218V. Passed Prime95 after 24 hours with no crashing or BSOD.

I usually run prime95 after I OC. Blend test in particular is best for checking for overall system stability. I will run this for anywhere from half an hour to couple of hours, but usually no more than 3. If all's well, I will fire up some benchmarking programs like Vantage, Heaven, 3DMark11, etc to see if they will run all the way through.

Yes. Since it took half an hour to crash it's close to being stable so you only need to up the voltage a bit, say 25mV. 9. level 2. unclebrudy. [email protected] 16GB/2500 10-11-11-28 1T 980ti 1505/7712 3 years ago. Correct, but also assuming that temps were in check. =) 8. level 2.
