Aug 30, 2011 · I usually run prime95 after I OC. Blend test in particular is best for checking for overall system stability. I will run this for anywhere from half an hour to couple of hours, but usually no more than 3. I've been a long time lurker, and I've been reading around the web somewhat. I see a lot of people claiming that their chip is stable after passing three hours of Prime95.

Oct 26, 2008 · The program author himself claims that the load temperature is 22C higher than when stress testing with Prime95. For my watercooled E8400, it's roughly 7-10C difference. Here's my own experience with IntelBurnTest. My E8400 was Prime95 stable for 12 hours at 4.1GHz with 1.29-1.30v.

I think you do want to run Prime95 as well as other stress tests, but P95 is important. If you can't run P95, then you pc isn't running properly. I ran P95 Smallest FFTs for over 24 hours straight with max temp of 73.4° on my old build. I haven't had time yet to oc my new build, much less test it.
