A beautiful day for sailing. SSW breezes at about 10-12 with higher gusts to later in the day to challenge the sailors. Over 4 evenings for a total of 12 hours, you’ll learn the use of sails (main & jib), docking, tacking, jibing, and basic nomenclature while sailing a 19′ Flying Scot. It’s great for beginners or as a refresher course. Classes meet 5:30-8:30pm or 5:00-7:30pm, depending on the session date.

All camps are held at Washington Sailing Marina in Alexandria, VA and run Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 4pm and include five 6.5 hour sessions (32.5 hours total). All camps meet rain or shine. US Sailing curriculum is followed throughout each level and a textbook may be purchased the first day of class for $15 (purchase is optional).

The video was taken during a lull in the waves. Was a lot of fun in a 17 foot boat! Wouldn't be any big thing for the larger boats.
