I have a pair of mail servers that are comprised mainly of Postfix, Procmail and Cyrus-IMAP and they both work fine. The IMAP servers are configured in a simple master/replica pair. All 'normal' mail is accepted by the master's Postfix which processes it through Procmail for delivery to the Cyrus-IMAP running on the same server.

Mar 01, 2012 · Hi all, When I run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure postfix", do I need to say Yes to "Use Procmail for local delivery" ? I'm not sure to answer yes or no AS I configure both Postfix and Dovecot servers. If I do not use "procmail", does dovecot take care the local mail delivery or other default program will handle the local delivery ? thx.

Nov 23, 2012 · Now I am able to setup one part of the server i,e postfix accepting mails from specified domains (not wild card) & filter through spamassassin & place the mails in respective folders with procmail. I am getting stuck with other part now i,e accepting wild card subdomains with this setup.

Apr 12, 2005 · Procmail ? Maybe i'm wrong, but i think procmail is used only by Sendmail as local delivery agent (solution i always use) ... I think that postfix doesn't use procmail, but instead delivers mails itself directly on the configured location ...
