The Oakville Museum is made up of several buildings. The primary building is the original estate of Chisholm family that founded the town. Inside you'll find displays about town life during mid to late 1800's. There is also an excellent exhibit dealing with the role that the community played in supporting the Underground Rail Road.

1 review of Oakville Museum "The museum is housed in the Erchless Estate, which encompasses the building itself but also the surrounding landscaped grounds. There are both permanent and special exhibits. When I visited, there was the "Preserving Peace: Souvenirs of Peacekeeping" exhibit with donated artifacts. Very educational and extremely well put together.
