1 Answer 1. This depends if you are running your Outlook client in cached Exchange mode or not. Cached Exchange mode: Outlook must be open for the delayed send to occur at the designated time. Online mode: Outlook can be closed (and the PC even shut down) and delayed send will still work- it is stored and sent by the Exchange server.

We are thinking of implementing it as a standard in our company for emails sent to the company distribution list. Emails sent to the dist list will be delayed and sent over night instead of during the day.

May 15, 2010 · Create the message, click the Options tab on the message and set Do Not Deliver Before to your desired date/time. *IMPORTANT* Outlook will have to be running and logged in at the time in order to send the message - that's a little problematic if you're going to be be away, since you have to leave your machine on and logged in.
