Jan 31, 2009 · o2's network is not capable of delivery reports for text messages. you are confusing your balance with a delevery report, they are 2 different things. a delivery report just informs you that the other person has received your text and at what time etc. what you are experiencing is just o2 informing you you have used some off your credit.

Dec 29, 2014 · Only Three and Orange (Pay Monthly only) charge 1p for delivery reports. All other networks (T-Mobile, EE, O2, Tesco, Asda, Vodafone, Orange PAYG, Virgin etc) do not charge. I say it as it is - you may not like that but what would you prefer?

I seem to remember O2 doesn't support delivery reports even on phones that provide the option unless you use *0# - this might have changed, but that was certainly the case in 2005 - the built-in delivery report option on most phones did not work on O2
