Dinner. Meals are prepared for our guests Wednesday-Sunday evenings. They are prepared, packaged up hot and ready for pick up at 6PM in the lodge. You can pick up your dinner and bring it back to your cabin, or if space allows, you are welcome to enjoy it at a picnic table on the water or in our dining room.

If planning a day hike up Katahdin, keep in mind that we are located on the NORTH entrance of Baxter State Park, approximately 1.5 hours from Mt. Katahdin. Very Convenient Hikes . Mt Chase – Local hiking trails around the lodge are also available. Our namesake, Mt Chase, is a 2,440 foot elevation mountain overlooking Upper and Lower Shin Ponds.

Our lodge is about Ten miles west of Patten on Route 159, the road to Baxter State Park’s northern entrance. Ride in from your long day on the trails to find a warm fire, your favorite beer or wine waiting for you, friendly faces along with a much deserved 3 course meal where the hot soup hits the spot and the bread is still warm from the oven.

The lodge overlooks Upper Shin Pond where there is an abundance of wildlife around every corner. You may just catch a glimpse of a bald eagle eating a landlocked Salmon, Loons swimming peacefully or maybe even a Moose catching a snack in the pond.
