The Chattanooga Area Model Railroad Club's "Chattanooga Southern" model railroad layout located in the Model Railroad Museum at the Choo Choo Hotel complex closes Sunday January 18, 2015. My family and I visited the TV Railroad Museum on the way through Chattanooga and we loved it! It was a nice quick stop - only about 1.25 hours from arrival to departure. We went on the short Missionary Ridge ride, which was perfect with small kids. They got the thrill of being on a “real train” without getting bored.

Within the choo choo complex there is a great model train museum built by a group of model train enthusiasts. It shows a historical model of the city of Chattanooga and surrounding rural areas with many local industries such as mining and a sawmill. Many of the storefronts allowed glimpses into the lighted interiors.
