1 review of Maclaren River Lodge "The cabin with restrooms near the lake was a joy to stay in. They are newer and nicely appointed for a rustic cabin in the middle of a vast Alaska wilderness. The rate is certainly reasonable for Alaska in-season. The staff was particularly welcoming and easy to work with. Onsite dining was simple but good and again with reasonable Alaska prices.

MaClaren River Lodge is a destination all of itself. Located at about mile 41 on the Denali Hwy (Paxson end) it offers several options for lodging at very reasonable prices as well as a full bar and a restaurant with a reasonable but small menu. The staff is very friendly and helpful and this is a VETERAN owned business.

Our first weekend back Maclaren River Lodge was a checkpoint and 8 hour layover for the Denali Doubles Sled Dog Race. The "Lodge" dogs are very happy to be home! Jackson has his normal place by the Hearth, where he enjoys the warmth of the fire.

Maclaren River Lodge Tours. Amazing adventures to be had: Hiking, fishing, canoeing, wildlife viewing, berry picking, photography, great old fashion relaxation. We maintain a base-camp about 10 miles up river from the lodge. This leaves a 5 mile hike to Maclaren Glacier pond. Waterproof boots are recommended.
