Nov 13, 2008 · Here is the seat belt law in Michigan: Michigan Legislature The part he is thinking of is Section 710e paragraph "1-g". There are exemptions that apply to personal vehicles. If you have more passengers than belts and all available belts are being used then you are still in compliance. I don't think I would want to try that one though personally.
