Aug 01, 2018 · Face presentations account for 1/500-1/600 deliveries. This occurs when the fetal neck is extended and face from forehead to chin is the leading body part. The likelihood of vaginal delivery depends on orientation of the mentum (chin). With mentum anterior, occuring in 60 % of face presentations, vaginal delivery is often possible.

Cesarean section was performed in 50% of cases. Spontaneous vaginal delivery occurred with mentum anterior presentation 88% of the time, with mentum transverse presentation 45% of the time, and with mentum posterior presentation 25% of the time. Nov 26, 2006 · Mentum anterior babies will be head down with their faces tilted back so that when you do a vaginal exam you can feel nose and eyeballs. Their chins will be pointing forward toward mom's belly and their backs will be 180 degrees from an OA baby, in line with mom's spine. Frontum anterior babies (or brow presentation) present with their foreheads.
