Sadly the museum closed on 12/31/2015 for an undetermined period (it remains open to members and for some educational events). This is a wonderful history of the mills and textile industries in Lowell, set in an authentic mill building.4.5/5(61)

Definitely the best visit of Lowell. The museum features a full working mill on the ground level (ear plugs are offered at the entrance because of the loud machine). On the second floor, the exhibit shows the history of Lowell and ties it to the Industrial Revolution and the rise of Cotton Mills. Overall, a great museum.
