The Great Island Common is comprised of 32 acres of seaside green space and beach. The Common is a Town of New Castle owned and operated park. The Common will be open to the public from 9AM to 9PM daily. We do ask that all visitors use caution and follow all social distancing, State and CDC guidelines when visiting the park.

You can play a mean game of whiffle ball, swim in the ocean, grill some meat products, and drink some brew-dogs (on the sly as they are not allowed), all for admission of 5 balloons a head. Wow. Great Island Common is a wonderful park with 34 acres of greenspace and beach. The small beach is nice, albeit a bit rocky. The park itself has wonderful views of the Piscataqua River and ocean, two lighthouses (including a haunted one), and the Kittery, ME coastline across the way.
