A very simple yet missing function of any iPhone model, is SMS delivery reports. Of course there is iMessage – it does have delivery reports. There is also WhatsApp (you really should be using this great app) supporting the same feature, or Viber.

As @MI5 said, the ‘delivery report’ function is not supported on the O2 network. If you’d like to receive delivery reports, you can enter *0# followed by your text message and then send the message as you usually would. Please let us know how it goes

Oct 24, 2011 · And for the prefix by 02 its just a workaround excuse for delivery report support. It existed ages ago and we now seem to need it again because the iPhone engineers forgot to put such a basic feature in a wannabe GSM phone. Any idea if it supports branded SMS?

Secondly, it is not a network issue or a bug to not receive delivery report for SMS on iPhone as Apple never provided such service (as far as i know). Moreover there is no alternative app to deal with SMS and delivery report on iOS (while it is possible on Android OS).
