Queensland's Gold Coast Hinze Dam is located just 15 kilometers south-west of Nerang on the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road. Built across the Nerang River, the original construction was in 1976 and from a small carpark beside the dam, the Hinze Dam has now grown into a tourist attraction in it's own right with the newly added facilities of restrooms, a cafe and visitor information centre.

Cafe needs to re-open. Review of Hinze Dam. Reviewed May 8, 2020. Ample parking, spacious platform , open bathrooms, and yet the cafe is not open for takeaway or anything. It could easily accomodate physical distancing. Anyway, always a lovely outlook and stroll along the causeway.
