I made the mistake of taking a rock from the beach at the old Cape Hatteras Lighthouse site. For two hours I had 2 Park Rangers look for me on the Island to retrieve the rock and give me a Violation Notice, (ticket). I was totally honest that I took the rock, it was in our car, I thought it was a regular, pretty rock. I paid the $325.00 fine.
