Pete retired from the Marine Corps in 1995 and started Fairwinds Farm shortly thereafter, with just the farm stand and three acres of mixed vegetables. Cathy, who grew up in Bowdoinham (and spent summers picking peas on the grounds we now farm!), owned and operated a separate farm at that time.

The goats are milked twice a day, once in the early morning, and then again in the evening about 12 hours apart. The milk we use, is shipped from the farm to the processing plant every Saturday afternoon. This ensures a fresh base product to use for that week.
