Jan 13, 2015 · A.B. Charles Hobby Shop in Pittsburgh, Pa Closed. What was at one time the shop in the Pgh area has apparently been closed since August. When they were located on West Liberty Avenue in Dormont, and the owner was Ed Charles (Mr. Charles) to most, it was hands down the best shop in the area. He had anything you would have wanted.

Jul 15, 2020 · I visited the Dormont location a few times when I was working in that area in the mid '70s. I was modeling HO trains and 1/24th plastic cars then. I never went back after I quit working there and never was in the South Hills location. There were other places that were closer.
