200. 397. 171. 9/14/2021. I was a member of Eastern Athletic Club for 5 months before the pandemic hit, requiring the gym to close in March of 2020. As a member, I loved the gym. The space was HUGE, clean, classes were fun, and best of all - it was never crowded. The gym also had an indoor swimming pool.

I recently moved up the street from the Eastern Athletic Club in Brooklyn Heights. I received a flyer in the mail offering a three month membership for $133. I'm in my seventh month of pregnancy and running outdoors isn't as easy as it used to be, plus I work long hours, so only have time to work out once or twice a week; this offer was ideal.

On Friday night, the gym closes at 6pm (!), and nearly as early on Saturday and Sunday. The staff has made the argument that one can go to the Brooklyn Heights location, which has slightly longer hours and a few more classes. If I wanted to leave my neighborhood to workout, I would have joined another gym (and once my contract is up, I will).
