Doctors Park Beach, is crystal clear, soft pebble rocks line the beach! Aug 2016 • Family. Lake Michigan has the clearest water when you visit a beach that is north of a major City. This holds true for Milwaukee and Chicago.The way to the beach is at the far east end of the parking lot, near the swing set playground.

Doctors Park is a very nicely maintained local park with free parking and access to the lake shore. Folk go there with dogs and kids etc. I think there are concession stands in the summer. Doctors Park- the Northern Milwaukee Beach Park. We visited Doctors Park this week on a sunny Saturday. This is usually the least crowded beach of the Milwaukee beaches. There isn't a lifeguard here, no changing facilities other than a portable toilet at the beach level, and it takes quite a hike to get to the beach.

Doctors Park is right beside the Schlitz Audubon Center, so if you're up for a short hike, you can start in one park and go to the next.I wanted to see the view from the tower at Schlitz, so I walked up the path, but it was locked. If you hike there, you do need to check in at the main building and pay a user fee.
