And the complaint was less about the possible "lateness" of the package, and more about the bold-face LIE told by the driver who claimed to have made a delivery attempt, when no such attempt was made. Drivers may lie about you not being home, so they don't have to go to your location. But we don't lie about actually leaving the package ... somewhere. That all being said. Dispute the delivery, as you have been advised already. While I'm certain the driver didn't lie about delivering it, it is very possible it was delivered to the wrong location.

To avoid getting in trouble, they will scan the package and mark it as delivered - which results in the delivery status being updated. When they make the actual delivery, they will not scan the package (because it's already left the driver's possession according to the earlier scan).
