Jun 20, 2007 · I got a letter today from my OBGYN dr stating my estimated obstetrical care is $3164 but I owe $474..and this is for prenatal visits, vaginal delivery and the 6 weeks of postpartum care. They want this way in advance (July 11). For what I don't know. Will the hospital charge seperate, like for the room, epidural, etc? Does anyone know how much it will be on average? I have pretty good insurance.

We had to pay in advance four years ago and have I do the same again. It is actually nice because after delivery you get hit with the hospital, anesthesiologist, and pediatrician bills. Having a baby is very expensive, even with insurance. All you can do is talk to your office and set up a payment plan.
