Apr 22, 2014 · I ordered a Dell Inspiron Laptop on the 16th April 2014 and today (21st April 2014) i checked on the order status. Their website tells me that the laptop is "in production" but that delivery will only be on the 25th September 2014, ie in 5 months time.

Also the few times it became loud, all i had to do was start dell power manager and choose Quiet or Optimized in the dell thermal management. I mostly used it plugged into AC power and keep it on ultra performance mode. Long story short, coil whine hasn't been much of an issue for me till now, 3 days and counting..knock on wood.
