If an email is relayed to a server which does not support delivery notifications (as advertised by the DSN keyword in an EHLO reply), the sending server generates a relay notification.

The DSN (Failure) will include a Non-Delivery Report explaining why your message bounced. If the NDR is not returned to you as an attachment to the DSN, you will have to examine the source* of the DSN to see the NDR.
