Re: Delivery expired (message too old) I noticed the same issue on a customer ESA and wanted to share my findings. You will likely see a high Active Recipient count when looking at the ESA GUI > Monitor > Delivery Status or via cli typing > tophosts then Active Recipients.

Mar 23, 2020 · Remote Server returned '554 5.4.0 #4.4.1. Too many hops? You could let the vender add your domain to his safelist/ whitelisting, this can bypass some anti-spam filter. Do they use Exchange server? They can use message tracking to check this issue.
