Mar 19, 2020 · After we upgraded our 2003 Outlook/Exchange versions to Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007, the Delay Delivery option will not function for any of our users. The delayed message does go to the user's Outbox as it should, but the message remains there after the scheduled delivery time and never gets sent even if you open the message and try to manually send it.

Oct 10, 2011 · Environment: Exchange 2007 SP3 - Outlook 2007 SP2, Exchange Cache Mode ON Issue: Delay delivery; email will sent only when Outlook is open. Outlook will not sent "delay delivery" email when is closed. Tested: the Delay delivery feature only works when .ost is disabled I am looking for possible solution.

Nov 14, 2011 · Trying to send out an e-mail from Outlook 2007 (using Exchange 2003) with the option to delay delivery for a certain time. For example, time sensitive message that can only be sent on the next business day and needs to have a timestamp at 12:01am in the recipients mailbox.

Sending messages works fine. OWA, ActiveSync devices and Outlook running on laptops connected through wifi receive messages instantly. Connecting those laptops to the LAN reproduces the issue. Turning cached mode off allows them to receive messages but they are still somewhat delayed.

Oct 27, 2010 · When Outlook is running in Cached Exchange Mode, it uses a local offline folder file (.ost). This file is periodically synchronized with the server. When you enable the Do not deliver before option to defer the delivery of a message, the message is deferred to the local Outbox, not to the server.
