Concerta only lasting 4 to 5 hours? I was prescribed concerta 18mg and it only lasted 3 to 4 hours. The doc currently has me on 27mg and after 4 to 5 hours I feel extremely tired and it is not working anymore. My sleep is good, appetite is fine, drink lots of water. Hi, yes. Mine lasts only about 5 hours max. I need to take a large first dose and follow with smaller doses every three hours, and my symptoms still start returning 3 hours after my last (small) dose. A larger dose would last longer, but it felt like too much for me. I prefer to spread it out to keep the side effects minimal and smooth out the crash.
