Your driveway was not built to withstand heavy trucks (4 inches everywhere) and the ground was wet under the slab at the cracks which already existed. You should have told them to deliver at the road or use a stinger lift.

Yes of course a truck that big could damage a good percentage of driveways. Addition for dump truck: This depends on size. I have never had a roofing company use a dump truck at my site. These are less risk because of wheel sizes but still not letting a full size one on my driveway.

Generally speaking a truck used for shingle delivery should not have damaged a properly installed driveway. I agree if the driveway was the only access to pull up next to your home there was no choice on the delivery driver's part.

Feb 20, 2011 · The edge is still about 2" above the gravel next to it. A propane truck recently drove on the edge (when the driveway was covered with snow) and subsequently, the asphalt edging cracked and sunk. The damage is about 20' long and is sunk about 1/2" down and goes from about 1' from the driveway edge towards the center of the driveway.

Feb 27, 2009 · Legally i would say responsibility should be split 3 ways.You are not entitled to a new driveway because your drive was not in good shape to start. You and the contractor should of realized that the cement truck would ruin the drive way. and the truck driver should of reminded the contractor.

You driveway may sustain light damage during the dig phase when the bobcat or other diggin machine is travelling back and forth with payloads of dirt to haul away. Our dig was at least 100+ trips from the backyard to the front. The damage if any is really minimal.
