Two hours pass very quickly; the lake is large and it takes some time to get the kayak to the shore and later return to the store or if you want to change clothes and go to the bathroom beforehand. If it becomes more than two hours, they will charge $75 for the whole day automatically.

Buntzen Lake was about an hour drive away from Vancouver, but it was definitely worth it, however you need to get there before 11am or else the parking lot will be full. I got there around 930am and the parking lot was already half full.

It took us less than 3 hours to complete the hike at a leisurely pace. I would rate the overall hiking experience as “good” - 3.75 out of 5. Notes &Tips: • There are numerous trails leading from the lake but the Buntzen Lake trail is probably the easiest. • Lots of families on the beach.
