Bilston Creek Farm was 385 acres in size when established in 1853 and was the first colonial settlement of Metchosin. The farm is mentioned in the Census of Vancouver Island 1855. We know from this record that the farm in 1855 has two acres of improved farmland, horse, two dewllings, one store or shop.

The first wedding at Bilston Creek Farm was held on July 19, 1855, soon after the land was settled by the Blinkhorn family of Bilston, England. In 2018, Bilston’s second life as a farm wedding venue began, with a newly built timber frame barn set between the heritage apple orchard and rows of lavender rolling toward the sea.
