No. It should never have been a 24/hr store. Since reducing hours to daytime functionality all our group huddles have stated an INCREASE in sales since the transition. Store loses more money having to field a bunch of cashiers, additional management, etc for being open after midnight.

You can buy milk at the meijer gas station, it's open 24/7. You may not be able to go inside over night, but it is open just the same. Other than that, you've got 18 hours to satisfy all of your shopping needs .....figure it out!!

Meijer is also losing a lot more customers because we are not open 24 hrs. Theft has not been that dramatically lowered, but it has enabled the workers that love to talk, take extra long breaks, lunches without punching the opportunity to do so.
