If the Delivery Status is Delivered, and the Delivery Detail shows a 250 SMTP response code, the destination mail server has signaled a successful message transfer to the Email Security Gateway. Apr 14, 2017 · Is there any way to prevent the Barracuda from sending these messages back to the original sender? If so, are there any drawbacks to preventing the Barracuda from sending a "554 rejecting banned content" message back to the original sender? Or is this not even an issue I should worry about? Just trying to prevent backscatter the best I can.

Not using LDAP, but, what you suggested, adding the IP of the Exchange Server and testing an email address, completed successfully. I had just gotten off the phone with Barracuda, and was shocked that I will have to back-pay for Energizer Support and Instant Replacement from the date it expired.
