Antietam Creek is now my favorite place to kayak. It takes us about 4 hours to go from Devil’s Backbone to Burnside Bridge. There are a few challenging areas to maneuver through, which keeps the trip exciting. I wouldn’t take a beginner there unless they have a guide. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, and lots of wildlife!

This barn is a stunner: hand-hewn chestnut beams, post-and-peg construction, soaring rafters, and a full view of the rolling hills beyond.
