Aguirre Springs is probably the closest that you can get to the base of the Organ Mountains. It's unbelievable once you're standing down there looking straight up at the mountain. You really learn to appreciate the nature that comes with living in Las Cruces and Organ.

This specific trail was about 4 miles in length but was mostly shaded, had natural springs flowing (not sure if this is present in the summer months), and the trails are moderate with only a few technical areas.

1. Site Number: 33. Overall Rating. We’ve driven through Aguirre Spring campground before, this was our first overnighter. The views are spectacular, and the whole area is beautiful. The upper loop (“A”) may have somewhat more expansive views, but the lower loop (“B”) is definitely quieter. Sites 17 & 18 may have the widest views of all.
